In case you are up-to-date with today’s digital trends, it is safe to say you have had multiple encounters with Chat GPT on social media, and maybe even at some point, these experiences ended by using the AI model.

You might also have stumbled upon the abbreviation “GPT.” However, even individuals who have encountered this term previously may not understand its meaning clearly. Because of this, in today’s blog, we will talk about everything you need to know about ChatGPT.

What is Chat GPT?

OpenAI developed Chat GPT, an advanced conversational AI model that can generate human-like text, serving as an intelligent virtual assistant. ChatGPT underwent training on extensive internet data sets, giving it the ability to engage in conversation, comprehend user queries, and provide relevant responses. Its revolutionary technology has transformed various industries, significantly enhancing the quality of human-machine interactions. Despite its limitations, Chat GPT represents a monumental achievement in conversational AI research and development.

What does the GPT stand for?

GPT stands for Generative Pre-training Transformer. Unlike sci-fi movies or robots, AI is relatively mundane and user-friendly; chances are, you might have already used it without realizing it.

GPT specifically is an advanced AI that functions as a smart language assistant, capable of predicting and creating text based on inputted information. Technically known as a language model, it can predict what you’re about to type while drafting an email or composing a message, serving as a useful tool for various applications.

Chat GPT’s new privacy policy

OpenAI developed Chat GPT, a conversational AI model generating creative content. Chat GPT has undergone changes since its market debut. Initially, every prompt and output enhanced Chat GPT’s services. Terms and conditions have changed and updates are challenging to track.

On March 14th, 2023, OpenAI updated the terms of use and privacy policy. Chat GPT introduced the ability to turn off chat history on April 25th, providing users with greater privacy. When chat history is disabled, conversations won’t be used to train or improve Chat GPT’s models. These controls are in Chat GPT’s settings and are rolling out to all users. New conversations will only be retained for 30 days unless monitoring is needed.

ChatGPT also announced a new business subscription for data control. A new export option helps users understand stored information. While OpenAI aims to make people comfortable using Chat GPT, caution is advised when working with generative AI tools. Engagement should be viewed within a broader intellectual property framework.
