Grafana Integration Plugin
A new plugin is now available at Thinger.io marketplace, this time it is the integration of the Grafana data representation and analysis platform. In case you don’t know it, Grafana is an Open Source technology especially focused on the creation of dashboards for data sampling and representation that allows using different data sources, including temporary source databases such as Graphite, InfluxDB or OpenTSDB. Grafana project emerged in the year 2014 and since then has created a large community of users who are evolving their services and capabilities. Currently, it is one of the most used platforms in the field of IoT for this purpose, especially due to its ease of use and operation quality.
The integration of this technology with Thinger.io through the new plug-in allows our users to expand the capabilities of the platform in many different directions, not only to create new representation widgets, but also to implement automatic alerts in a really simple and scalable way or to apply data processing and filtering raw devices data, something very useful to extract the useful information they contain. All this in a really simple way, since during the integration access to Grafana software has been created through the Thinger.io web console and the configuration has been simplified thanks to the integration of InfluxDB as a system for the devices’ data buckets. All this information is now available in the platform documentation, so please don’t hesitate to check out the new page that is available at this link.
How to deploy this service?
It’s worth mentioning that this plugin is one of the platform’s premium features, only available to users of private instances of Thigner.io’s server. You can have one of these private instances yourself within minutes for less than 27€/month, just going to our pricing page (https://pricing.thinger.io). Once a private instance has been created, deploy a Grafana service is quite simple thanks to Thinger.io plugins system, that allows to download, deploy and manage plugins using a controlling dashboard that allows making all these processes using just a couple buttons:
Thanks to this system, creating and managing plugins is really easy. In the future we will continue to develop new plug-ins to extend the capabilities of Thinger.io in other directions, and we will continue to improve the management system so that it will become easier and more scalable to implement custom solutions on top of the standard Thinger.io. If you want to learn more about this technology, please take a look at the marketplace documentation.
