Our own hardware

ClimaStick, a complete IoT development kit

We are so proud to announce a new hardware development kit designed by the Thinger.io team! After more than one year of design and testing, here is the board: ClimaStick.

This board is a complete Internet of Things development kit that integrates WiFi connectivity along with a set of powerful sensors to provide environmental and motion sensing. This way, it is possible to create several connected projects easily. It is fully compatible with the Thinger.io cloud infrastructure, and provides easy to use libraries that can be used in the Arduino IDE.

At launch, in March 2017, the board was available to purchase directly from the Thinger.io store.

Board features

Sensors, battery and Arduino on one stick

Environmental sensing, a full IMU, a Li-Po charger, an RGB LED and a user button, programmed from the Arduino IDE.

Use cases

From the classroom to drones and industry

Education

An easy to use environment, fully compatible with the Arduino IDE, with multiple sensors for the students' projects. They start coding directly, without wiring multiple sensors and controllers in big protoboards, avoiding possible shorts and burns. With WiFi they go one step further: connected solutions, dashboards, sending emails, recording data, and so on.

Remote telemetry

A full IMU with WiFi connectivity for remote telemetry. The low weight of the device (4 g) and the option of a power supply other than the USB make it an excellent option for monitoring drones or UAVs in real time.

Industry 4.0

Predictive maintenance in industrial environments: measure vibrations, temperature and humidity in real time and determine if the sensed parameters are between normal operation thresholds.

Weather station

A micro weather station, powered easily from a battery and a solar panel, collaborating with weather platforms or just storing your information in the Thinger.io cloud.

Teaching with the board is part of the education programme, and a ClimaStick real-time dashboard appears in the railway vibration monitoring project.
