The engineers behind Thinger.io
Thinger.io is built and run by INTERNET OF THINGER S.L. from Las Rozas de Madrid, Spain. The same team designs the platform, writes the open source clients, publishes the protocol underneath and answers your questions.
Who we are
An engineering company that ships its own platform
We started in a research environment, and research still shapes how we work.
What came out of it is an IoT platform built so that people who are not IoT experts can create solutions to the same quality standards as our industrial clients, without first building the connectivity backend every connected product needs.
The platform and its console, the device clients, the protocol they speak and the remote access service built on it are all our own work. That is why a question about any of them reaches someone who has worked on the code.

What we build
A platform, a protocol and a way in
The IoT platform and the open protocol it rests on, plus ThinRemote, a separate service for reaching Linux devices.
PLATFORM
Thinger.io
Connect devices, see them live and automate the response, in our cloud or on your servers.
See the platformPROTOCOL
IOTMP
The open protocol underneath, in production since 2015 and published as an IETF Internet-Draft.
Read about IOTMP
A separate service
ThinRemote
Terminal, files and tunnels for fleets of Linux devices, without opening a port.
Discover ThinRemoteThe client libraries are open source. Browse them on GitHub.
How we work
One team, the whole stack, no black boxes
Engineers on the other end
There is no call center. Questions are read and answered by the engineers who design, build and run the platform.
Open where it counts
The Arduino and Linux clients are open source on GitHub, thinger-http shares part of our communication layer, and IOTMP and PSON are public drafts anyone can implement.
Research in the loop
We started in a research environment and still work with UC3M, UPM and UNED. The platform, its protocols and their security are published in Sensors, the IEEE Internet of Things Journal and ACM proceedings.
Security as a process
INTERNET OF THINGER S.L. is an ISO 27001 certified company: the certification covers the processes behind the platform, not just the software.
Trajectory
From an internal protocol to a public draft
The road so far: products, research, awards, programs, events and community, most of them told in full on the blog.
