Practical IoT courses at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid

In July 2016 the team was teaching some IoT at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM, Madrid, Spain), thanks to the Samsung Tech Institute initiative.

From the archive: written in November 2016, when a second IoT course at UPM was about to start. Training programs, academic licensing and teaching materials are now on the Education page, and the courses are the 2016 milestone of the Thinger.io timeline.

The course

50 hours of hands-on IoT with the ESP8266

In November 2016 the team gave another IoT course of 50 hours.

The course introduced Internet of Things hardware and different IoT patterns: sensing, actuating, interaction with services, events reaction, communication between devices, hardware prototyping, and so on.

It was mainly practical: each student used an ESP8266 along with different sensors and actuators connected to the Thinger.io platform.
