Brand

Brand images uploaded straight from your computer

The brand settings behind a white-label console take their images from the filesystem, load faster and make the console installable as an app.

Brand PWA configuration

Upload app icons directly from the filesystem, and configure both the 'maskable' and 'any' icon purposes. Fixes issue #84.

Brand Share Image

Upload the share image directly from the filesystem.

Brand logos

Now served from the web server instead of a JSON config, which should reduce load time.

Brand PWA start_url

Makes the console installable on Chrome.

Products

Products that resend data, tag buckets and stream resources

Products can now forward their devices' data to an endpoint, set the tags of the buckets they create, and handle Resource Streams.

Resend device data to an endpoint

For example, fetch a given resource every n seconds, or take data from a topic, and resend it to another service.

Bucket tags

Configure bucket tags and use them on the automatic initialization. Fixes issue #81.

Resource Streams

Products can now handle Resource Streams, for example to create custom profiles for HTTP devices.
Endpoint dialog of a product profile: endpoint logger, source Device Resource, resource name temperature, stream mode Sampling Interval of 60 seconds and a payload template
Endpoint configuration on the product profile: the temperature resource is sampled every 60 seconds and sent to the logger endpoint.

Endpoints

Endpoint calls that tell you who called

The endpoint call event now provides context about the caller.

Event Inspector showing an endpoint_call event whose data has a context object with host, request_ip and source http_request, plus the endpoint, payload, timestamp, type and user
Endpoint call caller context: the event carries the host, the request IP and the source of the call.

Improvements and bug fixes

Faster endpoint calls and page loads, HTTP devices on a par with MQTT and IOTMP devices, and the fixes of this release.

Performance

  • A resource cache enhances performance on massive endpoint calls and bucket writes.
  • Brand icons and logos are served from the filesystem instead of data URLs, which improves page load speeds.

HTTP devices

  • HTTP devices have migrated to a new connection schema that logs statistics such as bytes sent, bytes received and connections, like MQTT and IOTMP devices.
  • HTTP devices can be used inside dashboards with resources defined at the product level.

Dashboards and properties

  • The device property selector for HTML widgets can select any parent node (with nested values), or all property values when no field is selected. Fixes issue #16.
  • Property PATCH now supports regular JSON for partial property updates. Fixes issue #16.
  • Dashboard HTML widgets from external storage no longer require public storage access. Project members need read access to the storage.

Products

  • Product properties, topics, resources and functions can now be generated by calling a product function.
  • Product bucket writes can override tag values based on the write payload. Previously the product always set tags like 'device', overriding any 'device' field in the payload.

Server

  • Compatibility with OpenSSL 3.0 on SSL certificate provisioning.
  • Automatic updates of IP geocoding.

Bug fixes

  • Apex Charts widget colors did not honor the time series color configuration.
  • Binary data in the product payload was not processed correctly.
  • Visual Studio Code did not open the file storage correctly.
  • The API explorer did not display products containing only 'run' resources.
  • The product profile lists for buckets, endpoints, auto provision and API resources always displayed 'Property' instead of the resource type.
  • The info page display on empty or restricted resources.
  • Statistics on the sockets count.
